Algarve accommodation recommendations please

I'm currently looking at the Algarve in Sept 07 for 2 adults and a baby of 5 months. As this will be our first holiday with a young baby we're trying to reduce the stress levels by flying from our local airport Luton, hence why we've chosen the Algarve. Although if anyone wants to recommend a different destination that flys from Luton feel free!
Looking at the Algarve Lagos seems our cup of tea. Ideally we'd like to be in self catering but within walk of places to eat. I'm worried about a crying baby disturbing other people and so maybe not a hotel or complex - a quiet small villa perhaps?
Can anyone point me in the right direction of some good accommodation providers in the Algarve - don't mind either a package or doing all the booking ourselves.

Not the Lagos area but closer to the airport and in one of the best resorts in Europe. Beautiful beach and close to the beach. Available from the 8th of September.0
