Headphones with aerial for pocket DAB radio

Can anybody recommend headphones with an aerial for DAB radio?
They don't have to be great quality, just so i can listen to radio in the garden.
Any ideas folks?

  • Brought some Sony MDR-EX50 In-ear headphones from Tesco while on offer a few months back for my Bush Portable DAB Radio - Vast improvement on sound and works a treat.

Think mine were on half price and around a tenner ?

It's the headphone lead itself which acts as an aerial - you don't need a special model.

If you don't care that much about quality then start with a cheap pair from your supermarket or an electrical store like Currys. You can always upgrade later if think you need better sound quality.

It's a Bush one I have, and the ones I've tried have been hopeless, admittedly all under £5.
There's no signal with them, but I'm fed up with only using the battered ones i have, where I can only hear through one ear. I'll look out for the Sony ones. Thanks
  • Part of the problem may be a poor DAB signal.

A headphone lead will do a reasonable job as an aerial for an FM signal, but DAB is much more fussy.

Does the radio have its own aerial?

It's the one I keep at work,so don't have it to hand It's a Bush one that is no longer made.
I don't think it's a reception problem, as I get a good signal using the supplied headphone, just one side doesn't work. I also have a Pure pocket 1500, and that works well with just about any headphones. I'm using Sennheiser MX370? on that, but I can't get a signal with them on the Bush one.
Thanks for all your help. I'm going to try the ones keggies recommended.
  • ... just one side doesn't work...

Probably is a problem with the headphones, although it might be the plug or socket.

Make sure the plug's pushed all the way in.

Turning it half a turn both ways a few times can help the connection.
  • My Old dab radio is the white Bush PSDAB2004 Personal DAB Radio - still working great after quite a few years and the Sony headphones I suggested I brought only this year after the Bush ones broke (I stepped on them).

I can only say from my experience that the quality is far better and works a treat for me.:D
