Theres a cool little app for Windows PDAs called WiFiFoFum that seaches for WiFi access points - so if your in town, this will tell you where if theres anything in the around (you can even filter the results so that only access points that aren't protected are shown
) WOrks really well.

I remember seeing a Pocket 'Hotspot Finder' Key Ring (or something like that) going for about a tenner about a couple of months ago. Not sure where I saw it - maybe here or HUKD or dabs or play com. Anyway, I cant find it now and am hoping someone can direct me towards it.
Await advice. Many thanks0 -
paradoxia wrote:can you save the Weatherspoons vouchers for use at another time - for example if you go for a meal with family on Wednesday night and get 6 vouchers.... can you use 3 hours on a dull friday afternoon when you don't fancy going back to the office?
Are the vouchers unique to that pub? Reason I ask is the broadband/modem is housed in those "quiz machines" you see in the pub so if its the same brand of machine somewhere else will that work?
Has anbody actually managed to get one of these vouchers? I've never seen anybody in my local Wetherspoons with a laptop, yet they've "run out" of them
Trying to get a decent response out of customer services is a joke

Hi, long time reader, first time poster.
Thought I'd pitch into this thread by mentioning FON. I got my free access point from them recently from a deal they were doing to celebrate their one year anniversary (which is over now, they only had 10,000, sorry I didn't post, but it was already on Digg and, well, y'know the Digg effect).
Basically, they're the worlds largest free WiFi community, and they have this Google Maps like thing where you can search for people who're sharing their connection and you can tap into them free of charge, which is pretty awsome.

Free wifi in Burger King if you spend more than a £1 - so has to be coffee and onion rings - coffee isn't enough.
You have to put up with fluorescent light and hard seats - and of course no chance of a snog for hours...0 -
Ohh there's a couple free in Belfast, awesome0

Just doing some research for some free wifi - on my way to a work trip, and I've been told to find free/very cheap wifi so I can do some work remotely!
You can get free wifi from:
Weatherspoons
Varsity Bars
Revolution (vodka) Bars
(- they did ask for cheap/free wireless, if I have to buy booze to get it, what can they say!)0
