Has anyone brought bedroom Furnitiure form argos?

I want to buy a chest of drawers in Maple to put baby stuff in but in the past the chest of drawers I had fell apart.

Does anyone know if the argos stuff is good quality?
Not that chipboard stuff at the bottom.

This is the one I'm looking at.

I saw some in MFI but they were £210 in the sale.

Any other Ideas of where to get strong chest of drawers near the £100.00 mark.

Thanks in advance.

we've had a sideboard from them and it's very sturdy but I suspect it may vary according to the lines. The same furniture is in Homebase so if they have it in store you can have a look and see for yourself.

I bought a wardrobe and desk for my daughters bedroom - it looked ok when put together but within 2 years all the drawers fell apart for the wardrobe. IMO look elsewhere.

that is chipboard covered in the paper foil to create the wood effect, but having said that, we've had one one the shop floor for several months taking all sorts of abuse from customers and it was still in good enough condition for us to sell off at the end of it all

if you take the time to build it as well as possible (you cannot overbuild these things) and treat it with respect, i dont really forsee you having any problems.

something to bear in mind.. if you were to buy a chest from a specific baby range, you would be supplied with fixings to secure it to the wall as a matter of course. not all adult furniture come with these. tthey are cheap to buy, and well worth investing in for when your little one is mobile.

We've bought stuff from there and it doesn't last well at all I've found.

Apart from the canvas covered furniture in the spare room which is still in surprisingly good condition.

    IKEA!!!

We have found much better priced furniture at Ikea than in Argos/Littlewoods (RIP) and it lasts really well.

They unfortunately don't have in stock the furniture we bought for our dd's nursery, but surfice to say we got real wooden chest of drawers and wardrobe for £120ish.

I put up flat-pack for people, and Argos is in my opinion not very good quality.
As stated by Alleycat, IKEA is much better, it's what I have in my house.

  • Hi
we have argos furniture in our bedroom, a full suite of it.
it's not bad, lasted about 5yrs so far i guess but it is only wood effect.
given my time again i would have bought from ikea which i now love, but i hadn't discovered it then!

I hate to say it, but I agree with Ikea. If you can stand the queues and !!!!!! CS then their stuff is good.

  • my ds bedroom furniture was all from argos, beech effect, so not real wood. The only thing we have had to do is repair one drawer in 4 years but that was because he had severely overloaded it. Having said that the Ikea bookcases I have were moved from one house to another without falling apart but argos and mfi furniture doesn't seem to stand up well to being moved.
