Hi and welcome
There are a few ways of trying to get hold of your account number details, first I suggest to check any old bank statements where you paid the direct debits for the loan, the loan account number is normally shown next to the monthly repayment of the loan.
To check if any PPI, you could then contact the business, but as long as you have the account number, know you were sold and mis sold the PPI you can still make a reclaim.
You could try contacting the business and give them as many details as possible in order for them to try tracking down your account details.
Another way is to request a SAR (Subject Access request), they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all details held on your accounts, going back to at least the last 6 years, so at least they should still have some details if you closed the loan in the last 6 years.
With a SAR, you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order, there is a full SAR letter template below.

To make a reclaim, you just complete the reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below, send and keep copies as well for yourself in case you need to go back to it at some point, good luck and hope the info given helps.
