Looking to go to Portugal in early July
4 adults and a toddler (3 year old).
Looking to get a good deal - if thats possible - is it worth booking a package deal with a recognised company or going it alone and booking your own flights / accommodation?
Never been to Portugal before - looking for a nice resort no night clubs (going with the outlaws) but entertainment, beach, shops etc
Any advice most helpful:dance:

I travelled to a few places in Portugal in the last Euro Championships with England Footy team. Lovey beach in Lisbon (But is man made and VERY VERY quiet). If you got kids, would definitely stick to Algarve. If you were to plump for the more daring option of Lisbon or a surrounding big city the kids will be bored in no time! I'm sorry to say also, that many of the cities are very dirty, especially off beat centres of Lisbon. Also, Lisbon is VERY dangerous at night (2 stabbings etc when we were there). On the other hand though Portugese people very welcoming and warm hearted and friendly.
don't mean to put the country down, but after all isn't this site about helping others out by giving advice / opinions?0 -
Lisbon is no more dangerous than any other European city.0
