Touchpad

Options
Hi
I've got a packard bell easynote laptop. I posted a while back that the touchpad had stopped working and someone kindly told me to load linux which would determine whether the touchpad was faulty - did that and the touchpad worked fine so thinking its driver problem.
Recently I can get the touchpad to work for a day or so then it will stop working again - I have to reinstall the driver again to get it working - sometimes it works first time, other times I have to uninstall and reinstall the driver a few times for it to work.
Does anyone have any idea as to what is causing this - it is becoming really annoying and the laptop is getting ever closer to going through the window!!!

Try using the drivers here - looking at your previous post, they look like the the correct ones for your model - assuming you are using Vista.

Thanks for your reply. Its W7 I'm using - pc came with Vista but I loaded W7 onto it. The touchpad did work for a year or so after me loading W7 ie I didn't start getting problems with it immediately after loading W7.
Do you think the vista driver you linked to will be ok to try with W7?
    Thanks

  • Try This.

Open control panel then click Device Manager Click mouse and other pointing devices. select Synaptics PS/2 port touch pad Click driver then click roll back driver. Once done that Click Update Driver. Should then get told to restart computer.

This worked for me when I had problems. Good Luck
