Problems with Natwest??

Does anyone have the same problems with the Natwest (or their bank) that I have been having?
I collect all my loose change in a jar, bag it up and give it to my hubby to take to the bank, but twice now they have been awkward about it; not wanting to accept change over a certain amount.
Can they do this?
As far as I can see all I'm paying MY money into MY account so what is their problem???

Yep, I know what you mean. The ShAbbey will only accept £100 of £2 coins. Don't know about other denominations. Glad I'm not a market trader or something. Or is it different for business customers?I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

My local natwest are the same - another option rather than pay it into your account, would be to pay a bill with it - they cant actually refuse then.
My local Abbey will only accept a few bags per customer, but its quite a small branch, so maybe understandableNo Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

no idea what my nerdnumber is - i am now officially nerd 229, no idea on my debt free date0 -
My local branch of Abbey(where I work) will only take 5 bags of change per person per day because it's a small branch and literally has nowhere to keep it.Debts Jan 2014 £20,108.34
EF #70 £0/£1000

imagine what it does to the queues - and people don;t realise in the queue behind and moan at the staff. easier if in full bags.
thats probabaly why
also change takes up space, is heavy and securicor will only take a certain amount at a time
Halifax take 5 bags a day (full) - small tills, small safe0 -

I agree with you 100%. It's a bloody cheek. I've never had any problem with Barclays when I take my change in (anything up to a couple of hundred quid).
I think the words "I'd like to close my account please" should have the required effect. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I wouldn't like to be the customer behind you in the queue ;o)
I went to one Barclays once on a visit - it had a massive vault rather than a safe - size of a room. Many other banks have small safes, could explain things. Coins take up more space than notes0 -

Nor me. :rotfl:
I do pick a quiet time though, and avoid lunchtimes and Saturdays. That's the best I can do. It's only once or twice a year - I'm not the man from the Penny Arcade. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I agree with you, If I was handing over £100's and holding up the queue I could see the problem, but its always full denomination bags of about £30-£40 quid. I always go 'off-peak' so to speak and its a big, city branch so I don't see their problem.
I can't threaten to close my account yet as we have £2500 worth of OD (hence the coin bags lol):dance:One good turn gets most of the duvet!! :dance:0 -

How about: "You keep telling me to reduce my overdraft - how else am I supposed to do it?"If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
