Hi
I recently purchased a 1GB memory stick from Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/ByteStor-Speed-Dataferry-Flash-Drive/dp/B000A0D8JU/sr=8-11/qid=1168878944/ref=sr_1_11/026-4600803-8660416?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
The problem i have is that i am unable to use more than about 50% of the space on the stick. I am using it to store mp3's only and i now get an error mesage when trying to add additional mp3's even though only about 50% of the space is used.
Does anyone know the reason for this and can i do anything about it?
Any help appreciated

What message do you get? How much space does windows say is free on it?
It could be a few things :-
1. There used to be limits on the number of files you could have in the root directory, are you copying all the files to the root? If so, try creating a directory and putting them in there instead.
2. The file allocation size is high and lots of files means lots of wasted space, you may be able to format with a lower block size.
3. It's faulty0 -
Figured it now, thanks for your help.
I had created one folder and it appears there is a limit on the folder sizes, after creating a new folder and adding files to that the problem was solved...0
