Toy sale at tesco

I popped along to my local today to check this out.
They were doing it as a kind of market situation with items being pulled out of cages and given out to people who got there hand up. All well and good but for two separate families, grabbing anything and everything with trollies piled high with toys. I heard one of the ladies saying her OH had been in yesterday and got over £400 worth of toys and so they were both back today to get more. They sent their child to the front to grab stuff and how the bloke giving stuff out didn't realise how unfair it was I don't know. I got a cheap nerf gun and some klip on angry birds. To be fair, I didn't want much else as my children have grown out of alot of the stuff I saw today, but others were severely disappointed.
I have never been so shocked at the open greed of some people before and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. Please tell me it wasn't any of you!0 -
Ah thats a shame!I got some bits yesterday and there was such a good atmosphere! I could tell one woman really wanted an item Id price-checked so gave it her instead, and vice versa. What a shame some greedy people spoil it! It was a bit of fun yesterday (not sure if they were fellow MSE-ers or not)0

thank you will be able to look our for them now.:)0 -
You are so right, it was a shame. The majority were patient, calm and helping each other out. Unfortunately the only things most people got were little bits. Thinking about it, the guy must have known one of the families because he gave the little boy everything good and people were getting so hacked off at the lack of opportunity. It was very badly handled by T's near me.0

Looks like nobody took any notice when you politely request they didnt do it, sadly
Yes it's annoying, I understand your frustration but as mentioned before, there are other alternatives for price checking, surely it's not necessary to use shouting font, offending all eyes viewing this thread. The likelyhood is that the people who leave things by the price checker are the ones who probably haven't signed up or contributed and sell on ebay in which case, do you really think they are going to take any notice of your post or anyone elses, whatever the tone?
Let's not argue.0 -
After yesterday's success, we went to Newbury today. Not much there for toys, did get some electricals (but will post on other thread).
They didn't seem as organised as Winchester were yesterday, they didnt seem to have started the sale yet - or maybe I've missed it - but it seems like the prices are taking a little while to roll out to each store.
I did get some of the star wars guns that I wanted, they were £2 (SEL £8ish)
And I did manage to help out a little girl who was asking her mum for a 14.99 JLS doll - she wasn't having much success convincing her mum to buy it, and then I told her that they were apparently scanning at £1.50 and showed her where the price check scanners were and hey presto - happy little girl!
Spoke to a friend who lives in Swindon and apparently the sale stuff was all out today, but shelves were bare by the time she got there0 -

Personally I think it was worth a shot.0 -
