Anyone receive a refund without any paperwork?

This week I received a settlement from LloydsTSB direct into my bank account for Credit Card PPI.

Claim went in back in May, not contact from Lloyds since, apart from me ringing them twice asking for an update and getting fobbed off. Just happened to be checking my online statement earlier this week and an amount with "ppi refund" next to it was there.

I've received no paperwork and not had any opportunity to challenge, accept or decline the offer.

When I rang Lloyds they said I "should" have received a letter, but will send me another one and they now consider my claim closed.

Anyone else have this happen?

  • Not for me, I've had to sign an acceptance form for each offer so far. When you do get the letter, it will be interesting to see what it says.

They may be doing this for speed, due to the backlog of claims.
Even though you have the refund and they consider the claim closed,if your figures are wrong, you can take this to FOS,the wait is long but you already have money from them you just want the rest that is due to you, that is if they have calculated wrong.
  • Thanks for reply. The figure in my bank account is more than I expected, so that's a bonus. As you say, my claim was only a few days away from the 16 week reply deadline so they maybe rushing to settle some at the moment.
