Mitsis Serita Beach Hotel Crete

Thinking of going to this hotel next week have found a price incl flights and tranfers, AI for £962.51 for 14 days for 2 adults.
I have looked on trip advisor and hotel gets good reviews was wondering if anyone knows anything about this hotel.
I also don't know what the difference is between a shuttle bus and a shuttle transfer £10 diff in price if anyone can help

I stayed there in 2004 so my info is out of date and may longer be relevant.

2004 was the first year all inclusive I think and it didnt really work very well. It was ok during the day but was waiter only in the evening. There werent enough of them and it was very difficult to get a drink, they were that busy that they didnt want to catch your eye. Ended up drinking in the only local bar most evenings and therefore spending more money than intended. This is simple to fix and may have been resolved by now.

The food wasnt great but I'm a fussy eater. The pizzeria was very nice but had to be booked 24 hrs in advance and was often over subscribed. Again had to eat in the local bar. Again this could have improved by now.

Thats the all inclusive bit.

The hotel - its a nice looking hotel in decent condition right opposite the beach, and thats about the best I can say about it. My two major issues were the location. Its pretty remote, you cant really walk anywhere. Its a taxi ride to Hersonisos, but they were reasonably priced. Secondly was the balconies. We were on the front of the hotel overloooking the road (dirt track) and not the back that overlooks the pools/beach.There were small dividing walls, about 30" high seperating each balcony, so you could literallly walk to whichever balcony you fancied, and the balcony/patio doors were pretty flimsy, I never felt 100% secure.

I did meet some really nice people though. And the nearest water park (taxi ride) was good fun.

Like I say, this info is 7 years old now and everything could have been resolved except for the location. Reading the Tripadvisor reviews should help you with this.
