please can anyone tell me why the display says hdtv is set to tv and 480p setting cannot seem to be changed in the settings.

Flip the switch on the back of the xbox cable (the hdtv cable) to HDTV - it will only work with HD cables (not analogue cables)0

I have gamexpert cooler king with component cables, not the supplied microsoft cable, not the 360 cable.
When I set to 720p it reverts to 480p.
Any ideas

Sounds like the same setup as ours, ours stays at 720p so don't know then sorry.0
