I have a sneaking suspicion that he is trying to find out what firmware version your xbox has on, as he maybe doesn't have the facilities to update the xbox to the latest firmware versions.
I think you should ask him for clarification on exactly what he wants, is it the firmware version, serial number or something else?
Post back when he narrows it down a bit.
