i have my xbox for sale on ebay at the moment and someone has sent me a message to ask me if i can tell him the dashboard number can anyone tell as to what info this would tell him .

I have a sneaking suspicion that he is trying to find out what firmware version your xbox has on, as he maybe doesn't have the facilities to update the xbox to the latest firmware versions.
I think you should ask him for clarification on exactly what he wants, is it the firmware version, serial number or something else?
Post back when he narrows it down a bit.
