Powergen DualFuel Customers - Wintersaver Discount

Hi all,
As a traditional dual fuel customer using 8434 kWh of electricity and 27422 kWh of gas, I've just spent some time reviewing pricing plans from the various energy suppliers - and am bamboozled !!
However I thought I'd pass this on. Having spoken to my current supplier - Powergen - they have just offered my a Wintersaver discount, another 5%, which will run until March 2008. This offer was supposed to end in December but has been extended for January. There are no forms and it was activated immediately over the phone. To me, this means another £75 off our annual £1500 bill - every little helps I suppose !!
This is a good discount, in addition to the direct debit (6%), dual fuel (3%) and online (2%) discounts we're already receiving.
On a slightly related topic, is there anywhere I can get typical gas and electricity usage information and figures from ?
Thanks to all and apologies if this information proves useless.

You can only go on to the winter saver product if you've got an online account, which is why you couldn't go on it when you spoke to them before. Theoretically you could be switched on to it but if you don't have an online account you wouldn't get the extra discount.
If you let me know what problems you're having registering your account online I'll try to help. Or if you phone up and say you're having problems registering online they should pass you through to the internet team or give you their number.0 -
we just got the winterfuel discount, we just emailed them and they came back 3 days later saying its set up. we have online account, dual fuel, direct debit plus winterfuel - in total a 16% discount, which ain't bad at all. will keep a eye on the market for the much talked about price reductions this year and will switch if needed.0

Yes you have to pay by monthly DD, however the offer was due to end at the end of Jan, although it may have been replaced by another similar offer.0 -
I have just had confirmation of mine, after emailing them to enquire about this, an extra 5% saving, thanks very much!Carolbee0
