verbaudets deceiving e-mails

I registered with Verbaudet a couple of weeks ago but had not placed an order. I received 2 emails in the same 24 hours, both offering me £15 off a £20 spend, one offered a free gift and free delivery also. Small print states free delivery is only over £60, which all customers receive, so no "offer" there. I put a coat for £20 (its full price) in my basket and entered the code. It added the free gift but didnt take the discount off. I tried it with the second code (without the free gift) and still didnt add the discount. So I called customer service to speak to a very surly rude woman who told me its because my item is an online exclusive the discount does not apply. Now in the emails small print it states "offer not valid on Happy Price items, Green Star products, schoolwear collections and already discounted products". The item was none of those, but they wouldnt accept that.
Since then I have received three more similar e-mails, all with the same offers, all with same t&c's but none allowed the discount on the product! Why send e-mails with an offer, then not allow customers to use the offer, and make up extra t&c's!! I have emailed complaining about this and asking them to remove my details and and stop sending me email offers!

I've gave up with vertbaudet. i used to buy from them frequently and always used codes but they have practically made it impossible to actually use the codes and discounts they give you now. You used to be able to use the discounts on sale items e.c.t but their rules now are just ridiculous.
I've tried putting just full priced items into the checkout and tried to use the codes but it just never seems to work. it's a shame because it's really put me off buying from them now. Their stuff is lovely but it's very over priced, this didn't bother me though because i thought the prices were higher because they knew people would be using codes anyway...

p.s
try la radoute, they sell alot of similar child's clothes as vertbaudet (sister company? not sure) i've not actually bought from them but i have noticed they stock the happy price items and i think they are quite a bit cheaper and they often have discount codes as well, it's worth a wee look.0 -
Hi thanks for that, glad its not just me who's dissapointed by this company. Received an email after my complaint, with no apologies or explanations for why their e-mails are so deceiving! They've lost a customer who would of spent a small fortune kitting out her kids!!Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 2013
