Ebay - Feedback Not Left By Buyer

I am relatively new to ebay and have sold my second item recently. I left positive feedback for the buyer 6 days ago. The buyer still has not left me any feedback. Should I write an email to the buyer requesting this or should I wait for some more time. If so, how long should i wait for? or should I just accept the fact that some people on ebay will not give feedback?

Some people won't leave feedback but I generally give it a week from when the item should have arrived then if no feedback I drop a polite email just to check everything is ok happy with item and it arrived and mention I have left positive feedback fine this generally works0

Thanks for the advice.
I'll wait a day or two and write a polite email requesting buyer for feedback.0 -
You could just ask them did the item arrive okay. After all thats what feedback is.Ive done that 3 times and each time they have answered by leaving feedback.
I always leave them feedback immediately they have left for me or have at least acknowledged receipt because really the deal isnt done till you are sure everything went okay.0 -
As you have just started selling feedback is vital for you to build your profile, but some people don't like to be pestered for feedback as it is voluntary! also they may not have left it because they haven't yet had time! My friend will buy an item and not log on again until a month later! It is up to you whether you send an email or not! perhaps check on the persons profile and see whether they have any other activity in the past few days to see if they have been on ebay!

If you ask for feedback you might not like what you get.
Feedback is voluntary, some people choose not to leave it.

In response to angelcake, I have checked the users profile and the buyer has not left feedback for two purchases made before me and for another purchase made after me. In all previous cases the buyer has always left feedback.0

I've got two buyers at the moment, one has positive feedback of 11, the other of 4, neither have actually left any feedback for others at all.
In those cases I don't bother leaving feedback myself, if they can't be bothered with the feedback system then neither can I. Eventually if sellers stop leaving such buyers feedback the buyers might actually wake up and realise what they are doing.

Trouble is, if we all took this attitude then it would be a disaster for both sellers and buyers. As i've said before now, feedback is one of the most vital parts to eBaying. Its where we look for answers when things go wrong and for confidence in our buyers/sellers. It is really important.
Not all people leave feedback. Some leave it in bulk at one time. Therefore it might be a while until you receive some. Some people leave it straight away. All eBayers are different.
What is really annoying though, is when sellers who haven't left me feedback ask me to leave some for them! Bare faced cheek!
Me personally, as a buyer i leave it when i recieve the item, unless there's something wrong. ( I always make contact with seller before leaving a neg/neut) As a seller, I leave it when buyers have paid or in a oner once a month. I don't believe in retalitory feedback as it makes you look very unprofessional if you are seen "tit for tatting"."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
I usually leave feedback as soon as I feel the transaction is complete, and that is not dependant on whether the buyer leaves me feedback. HOwever, where a buyer has been buying for 6 months and has received 11 positive feedback and yet have never left any feedback in return they obviously don't care about the feedback system so I won't waste my time leaving them any.
