Scottish Power - New Tariff
Just spoke to Scottish Power about a cheaper tariff as comparison sites were showing them as £250-300 more expensive than N Power.
A new tariff is available but not on the comparison sites until October 10th or so - Online Energy Saver 15. They will back date it to the date you ask for it if you call them and ask them to move you over.
Took my costs from £1,890 to £1,550 for the year - gas and electricity.
Go for it!
Mike

Thanks for the post OP, I was out of my contract so was just on a standard tariff with Sp. This is going to save me quite a bit of money over the next year by the look of it.
Apparently it's actually an offer for comparison sites, but she let me switch anyway. It doesn't officially start till mid October but they'll backdate it.
Very happy:jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
I have decided to switch from npower - to anybody basically - as their customer service and online billing system is so poor. 'We'll send you regular statements so you can see how much energy you have used' One statement in nearly 12 months, new meter reading submitted so that I can see how much I have used - but - no statement until November as they only do them twice a year!
On the contrary Scottish Power with whom I have my electricity have been more helpful. billing created as soon as I enter my details. Then they sent me a nice letter today stating that they would continue my discount rate of -2% for another 12 months. But Lo! I have just logged onto the most informative website in the workld and discovered this thread. I can get 16% off a duel bill! why didn't Scottish Power tell me that? I am not cynical thinking that as I am an existing customer, I would not be bothered to look around - am I. Whatever, it looks like the deal for me! No rush though - I have a few more days to sniff around the forums a bit longer0
