A BACS Direct Credit is possible only within the UK.
A payment from another European country can be sent either as a SEPA Credit Transfer (only for a payment in euro), or a SWIFT transfer (any currency).
If it is sent as a SEPA Credit Transfer, and if it is sent to your correct IBAN and BIC, it should be credited on the business day after it was sent.
If it is sent as a SWIFT transfer, it typically arrives two or three business days after it was sent.

If it's amazon.co.uk then yes, it is a company based in Luxembourg. Since they asked you only for UK sort code and account number, they are paying you from a UK bank account. If they do this by Faster Payment, it should arrive within minutes, any day including Saturday and Sunday. If they do it by BACS Direct Credit, it arrives the second or third business day after they send it.
