Eurostar - Antwerp, Brussels, Paris??

Thinking of taking the missus away for 3 nights at the end of Feb.
We dont want to fly anywhere so considering the Eurostar.
Has anyone taken the Eurostar to Brussels then changed to goto Antwerp?
How was the journey?
What is Antwerp like?
Is it fun for a few days.
Whats there to do there? Are diamonds actually cheaper there?

Or would Paris or Brussels(direct trains) be better for a few nights.
I bet all will be a bit cold unfortunately.

cheers.

Personally, I'd go for Paris ... but then I'm baised cos I like the place and have been there 5 times in as many years!! Also, I'd use the Eurostar any day over getting a flight. Very little check in hassle and it takes you straight into the centre(ish) of Paris.

Last year my daughter and I travelled to Amsterdam via Brussels on Eurostar. The train that we caught from Brussels onwards to Amsterdam went via Antwerp.

The change was Ok - there was some confusion about where to catch the ongoing train as they changed its starting point from Brussels (Midi) South to Brussels North but it wasnt too bad to find how to get to Brussels North.

In fact in March we are going to Brussels - again by Eurostar - it is really easy and like the previous post would opt travelling to Brussels or Paris by Eurostar rather than flying anyday.

The extra bit to Antwerp is a little extra hassle - not too much but depends on how easy you want your break to be.
