They will depend on whether you are under 25 now, or under 35 next April when the changes come in plus what your income is. You could find that you're only going to get a fiver a week or so.

    If your budget is so tight that you will need help from the taxpayer to afford the rent I would advise you to look at a flat or house-share until you get to know the area well and what the local market rents are. On your sort of income I think things could be a lot tighter than you imagine.

    Just worked it out with my income on the housing benefit calculator. My weekly entitlment is £15.71. So roughly £30 a fortnight

    I would worry what happens after the prepayment is used up. You have a tenant who has had six months to get used to spending all of their income without regular monthly rent payments. They or the LL are going to get a shock in the seventh month.
