Advice on Descaling an Electric Steam Steriliser

I have read on here that you can use vinegar and lemon juice to descale a steriliser and I am just after a bit of advice on how exactly to do it?
Do I put both vinegar and lemon juice in the bottom with water and them switch it on for a cycle? Or do I let it soak with boiling water?
And how can I use this method in my kettle too?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks
Jen

I've never used lemon juice or vinegar in mine, but it's been a couple of years since we had a steriliser.
Ours was an avent one, & came with a tiny sachet of citric acid to clean it.
When that ran out, rather than buy more of their sachets, we got a small tub from the home brew section of wilkinsons.0
