WTC question and jobseekers ?
poves
Hi again , just a quick question - I rang tax credits yesterday as I have been on sick leave from work since 26th july .
I have been receiving ssp which is £81 a week , which has now brought me into the threshold of being eligable to claim wtc ( £15232 estimate for this tax year)
This was worked out on last year's income of £19000 .
Now my main concern is - if for any reason I don't end up returning to work ( currently signed off until 20th oct ) , whether it be I claim esa , or jobseekers , will I end up owing tax credits money back ?
It's likely that I will end up on jobseekers as it's my work environment that has caused me to be off with stress in the first place , pretty sure I don't want to go back.
I have had an offer of some self employed work ( part time 16 hrs ) which I may go with.
I know I need to keep them informed along the way , but don't want to end up worse off .
Thankyou.

That is something you really need to ask tax credits. Looking at what you wrote though it is very unlikely especially as you will do as you say in your last sentence.Hi again , just a quick question - I rang tax credits yesterday as I have been on sick leave from work since 26th july .
