Hi
With the news today that BA cabin crew have voted overwhelmingky in support of strike action I was wondering whether anyone can give me some advise.
I have booked to go to Orlando on 27/1/07 with BA for myself, my wife and young daughter. I purchased the tickets via the Daily Mail offer so they would be the normal restricted tickets. I obviously don't want my daughter's holiday ruined as she has been looking forward to this for ages, do you think i can cancel and get a refund due to the strike threat? At the moment I can book with Virgin for slightly more than I paid for my current tickets but it would be worth it to avoid the strike. If I leave it until the action is confirmed and I am affacted it would cost a fortune to get new tickets.
If I can't change and my flight is affected, what should I reasonable expect from BA?
Cheers

Firstly, check your travel insurance and see what it says about strikes.
If you have not yet arranged suitable insurance, then don't delay. And check with any insurer that you would still be covered, since at the moment it is still a strike threat, and even if they do go on strike it might not be until you are home from your holiday.
And can you ask BA what they would do for you if the strike went ahead?0 -
It isn't clear if this will affect all crew bases, your flight is from Gatwick, the crews at Gatwick have slightly different terms and conditions, keep an eye on the news for which crew bases are likely to be affected.
In the worst case, BA will stick to their terms and conditions, have a good read to see what they say about strikes.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
If you look on the BA site it gives a list of those flights which will be unaffected.0

Strike planned for 29th Jan is off.
Strike planned for 30th/31st looks like its on as talks have failed to resolve pay issue and BA are offering refunds or alterations to bookings(restrictions apply) for these two days.
Two further 72 hour strikes are planned in Feb and BA are offering to alter flights (restrictions apply).
Strikes affect mainline services except Manchester-NYC flights with codes1500-1503. Code shares etc should be unafected.
If anyone hears anything about strike planned for 12/13/14th Feb we would appreciate an update as we are due to fly out of Heathrow(maybe not) on 15th Feb. If a chance to cancel comes up I will be taking it as I can't face days in Heathrow just for a holiday. Also that is it as far as I'm concerned with BA it's just too uncertain with them0
