a little help compliance interview

hello i have been reading this forum about 2 hours now and i think i am worrying myself to bits so thought id better get some advise before my head explodes

today i had a compliance interview at the job centre (not under caution tho i think) as a query had arisen on my claim

they asked me the normal questions name address telephone number (which was wrong) and asked me for id (which i gave my passport and they photocopied)

they then asked me if i was working in 2008 and i said no they then said if i was sure i wasn't working for STX in 2008 in which i said i was sure

now the thing is i was sent to STX in 2004 from the jobcentre as part of the new deal programme for a 6 month placement and haven't worked there since the placement was finished so i dont have a clue why they would asked if i worked there in 2008....

the only other thing that i can think that is a have £600 in the bank (which i told them about aswell)

will they stop my jsa untill this is cleared up? (i signed on this wednesday) and i am on the work programme

sorry for the bad spelling and grammar

  • Did you tell them the information re the 2004 placement?

You may find that they've done a compliance review on this company and your details still appear on the payroll even though there's a 4yr gap between when you were there and when the benefit agency asked you about.

Basically benefit agency are checking all employees listed on company payrolls against claimants to see if anyone is using fake NI number or working while claiming benefits.
  • Hello yes I told them about the placement I even asked them to check there system because it was them who sent me there butshe couldn't because she had no access to the jobcentre network (I was told she was from outside that job centre )

£600 shouldn't affect you. I am wondering if this company have not done their paperwork properly....
By the way I have seen a lot worse posts that yours, just check the capitals, and it's advice not advise, and their if it is belonging to someone, oh and as well is two separate words...

I hate how people are afraid to post because they don't have perfect spelling and grammar, I also hate how the DWP scares people, I have been there myself.........

  • On a side note it was unlike any job centre interview I've ever had
I was taken into a room where the hall door auto locked and then the intervier was behind a glass window and the chair was bolted to the ground realy odd experience
  • that sounds horrible, but it's probably because things they have to say can send irrational people into orbit, they could try to throw the chair through the glass....

    Were you tape recorded?

  • I don't think so I did have to sign a statement in 3 different places and it was read out to me
