Hi just wondered I am currently unemployed and looking for work. I have been offered a job for only 10-15 hours per week. The pay will be at the national average. Will this affect my currently JBA payment?
Thanks

Surely anything is better than nothing? If you are out of work than I really recommend voluntary work to keep your CV live.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

u can work upto 15.5 hrs/wk but they dock your benefits by £1 for every £2 you make.
edit: £1 for every £10 -
What is the national average? Whatever you earn will reduce your JSA payment except for maybe £5 maybe a bit more depending on your circumstances.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I really do wish that was the case. They dock my benefits about £1.95 for every £2 I make. If it was £1 in £2 I'd be working a lot more.u can work upto 15.5 hrs/wk but they dock your benefits by £1 for every £2 you make.:footie:

Just Googled and it was £25,900 in 2010. So about £500 per week, so working on a 40 hour week that would be £12.45 per hour, so the OP would be earning between £124 and £185 a week.
I believe this is more than the amount that the Govt believes a single person needs to live on. Not sure whether they might get LHA and/or Council Tax benefit though.
