Sounds like you need Microsoft Word. If you don't have Word installed, you can install the free Microsoft Word viewer from here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=95e24c87-8732-48d5-8689-ab826e7b8fdf&DisplayLang=en

    That should do the job.

If using Outlook Express you may want to go to Tools, Options, Security Tab and then untick "do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" this may seem odd to do this but Outlook Express isnt very good at making decisions as whats a virus and what isnt so thats one thing to do then if you have not got Microsoft Office to open some of the sent files just download http://www.openoffice.org/
  • Thanx

I shall try both of these

  • Hi
Tried both these and still no good
I downloaded the word programme and (55 mins for the download) it said I didn't have the right windows programme
I have microsoft office 2000 so i assume I'm upto date enough
I tried removing the security tab and still no good

    Any other ideas
(Thanx for those tips by the way)

Sounds like your Email-messaging programme itself to me. Can you try saving the attachments to your hard drive and then opening them directly?

    Hi
    Sorry for not replying quicker

I have tried that also and still no good
I use ntl webmail. Does that make a difference
I think it may be something to do with my email section as I have tried to open the attachments on someone elses computer and they cant either
Any ideas. I have reset settings to original dfault and that hasn't worked either

    Thanks again for your help
