Ive jsut bought my first car - a Corsa 56 plate.

I was hoping to be able to plug my mp3 player into it but having a look in the manual and at the stero it doesnt seem to have an Auxillary port.

Ive done a bit of reading, some say it does have and others say it doesnt. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Don't think it does on that year, but the port is often seperate to the CD player - I know on the Astra it was in the centre console between the seats somewhere? If not, have you thought about one of those FM transmitter thingys that lets you listen to your MP3 player via the radio - I've used one previously and it was pretty good.

im not that into cars. I dont want to spend hundreads on it. It gets me to appointments and back. I just want something cheap and cheerful. but doesnt look a mess.

Ive just done a quick search from what i can gather with an FM Transmitter....
You plug part into a cig lighter.
You plug part into your mp3 player.
    Search for an FM signal.
    And it plays?

So you dont need an auxillary port or anything else?

    Is that correct?

Thats correct, some run off AAA batteries too. They use the higher end of the FM radio frequencies - you just tune a spare pre-set on the radio to the same frequency. The better ones have an infinitely variable frequency to avoid interference, but the cheap one I had only had 4 frequencies available but I could always find one that wasn't being used by a 'proper' radio station. For a fiver, it's worth a go?

It was like this one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FM-TRANSMITTER-APPLE-IPOD-CREATIVE-MP3-MP4-3-5MM-JACK-/190579402081?pt=UK_MP3_Player_Accessories_FM_Transmitters&hash=item2c5f6ae561

You could change the whole radio set - easy to do but you'll need an adapter to fit a 'normal size cd player like this -
