You're living with your partner already?
  • Without appearing that I am judging you in any way.....

Just from reading your post I get the impression that you are not exactly a "single parent". I get the feeling that you are implying that the only reason yourself and your (ex?) partner do not live together is so that you can get your rent paid on your home!

Personally , I would rather scrimp and save , tighten the belt to have all of my family living under the same roof!

There is no way that I would split my family up just so that I can get help with my rent. Family values mean so much more to me than that.

Im sorry to say that if this is the story you tell at your interview under caution then the DWP will see straight through it.

In a case like this they will have already obtained surveillance footage and hi resolution still images and possibly statements from neighbours , so if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about.
    The surveillance will clear you.
If you make a false declaration that will be used to show that intent exists to defraud as you will have provided information in contradiction to the evidence.
So in short, if you have nothing to hide, just go along and all will be well.

Thanks guys! I know it comes across dodgy but when i got pregnant we wernt exactly a couple so i would rather we could live together if we can be a couple! Things have made me think maybe its easier if he does live with me then we can be a family rather than disjointed! its not just so i get rent paid! i simply would be homeless if i didnt get rent paid but im not sure how to work out entitlements and stuff?

he earns maybe £90 a week on average and the entitledto website cant give me much more info!

If he earns so little you will still get help with your rent, pretending to be single to get the rent paid is asking for trouble and its found you, the investigations they have already done might mean prosicution unless you tell the truth to the compliance officer and offer to pay back the benfit.

No one took your original post "the wrong way" . You were asking advice on how best to work it so that you can have your partner and the father of your child live with you but still have your rent paid for you!

Im afraid you wont find many people on here willing to offer you that type of advice lol.

  • they obviously did as someone suggested i was pretending to be single which is far from the truth! i dont just live for my rent to be paid, i was asking advice and from reading posts iv been educated as to what is considered a couple and i am now hopefully doing the right thing by it!
