Hi
I wrote to Barclaycard to claim back mis sold PPI but was told they couldn't find a policy. I'm sure I had to take PPI out when I got the card about 15 years ago. I took the advice of the MSE forumers and submitted a SAR but still no info on PPI just last 6 years copies of statements which has how much paid but no details on breakdown. It doesnt say there is or isn't PPI on the account.
As a last resort I was thinking of passing to a PPI firm - I'd appreciate any advice on this and how much % I should expect to pay to a firm. As I've hit a brick wall this seems to be the only solution but I'm not sure what resources that have access to.
As always thanx in advance!

Hi from what I know most PPI firms are on a no success no pay base's because the chances of failure are less compared to the success's.
hope that helps.

Hi there, if Barclays say there is no ppi, they may be right,if you pay ppi on a cc the ppi is shown as a monthly payment it may not be hidden in the monthly card payment.
Using a claim company would be fruitless, they have no more power over Barclays than you do,if they cannot find it for you then they wont find it for the claims co.0 -
I agree with the info from the others on here, and have you actually tried asking for your details directly from your local branch.
In my case when I requested my details via SAR, I did not receive the agreement, but my local bank did, it maybe worth an ask just in case, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

di3004 - just out of interest, did you get SAR for all your accounts you reclaimed ppi on, as a matter of course? Just wondering if I should do this to see how much ppi I've paid over the years. Got some statements, but I've thrown a lot away during successive clear-outs! I've not started my claims yet btw.If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -

Claims companies dont have some magic way of getting your complaint handled differently. They cannot magic up documents that no longer exist. As I've hit a brick wall this seems to be the only solution but I'm not sure what resources that have access to.
it's game over.
If the provider no longer has documentation to support your accusation and you have no documentation to support your accusation then the complaint will be rejected and no redress payable. The further you go back in time, the more likely it is that documentation will no longer exist. Plus, you are not even sure yourself if you had it. That doesnt make your complaint very strong to begin with as there is nothing wrong with having PPI. It is how it is sold and set up that matters. You complaint is more about you thinking you had it not for any mis-sale reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
