Help please, advise required

:(Hi all
I have an appointment at our local CAB next week as the solicitors I have contacted do not seem to deal with the problem I have. Any advise would be apreciated :
To cut a long story short, we went on holiday at the end of June and put our pet in the local cattery, when we returned to collect him they said that he had escaped through the roof (which they have now had re-inforced), we have placed adverts in the local paper, put posters up and door knocked trying to find him since he went missing, all to no avail. On the 1st of this month I sent a letter asking for them to compensate us for our loss of our pet and all costs incured trying to locate him (was a very long in depth letter) and also sent it to them via email. They have not as yet responded and just wondered if any one knew where I would stand legally ?? :(

Unfortunately you can not claim for emotional loss, how much did the cat cost.

What did the solicitor say ?

  • The only responce I had from the solicitors was that "they do not deal with this type of issue and to contact the CAB" !!

I'd want to be compensated for the cost of trying to find the cat though. Have the firm got insurance to cover something like this?

I lost my cat about a year ago. Pedigree mainecoon, that I adored. She was chipped but despite posters and adverts was never found. My four year old still says he misses her, even though I think Willow wasn't that keen on him LOL. Hope you find her. x
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
