Can you help me?!

Options
Hello fello freebie hunters.

I am embarking on a 6 month volunteering programme in Puna, India. I will be teaching English in a local school and then helping with chores and homework at a home for children who are trying to escape from the misery and almost certain death of the Puna slums.

I need to find gifts to take to the children for competitions and encouragement. These would need to be small things like pencils, rubbers, small balls etc and i was wondering if anyone has any decent sites that give these away free. Ive had a look but cant find any.

Thank you very much.

The Captain. :j

You can get lots of free pens, balloons, sweets etc from the UK transplant website.

    http://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/campaigns/get_involved/promo_toolkit/promo_toolkit.jsp (click on "promo items")

Just email them with your name & address, and what you would like. They will send you up to 30 of each item if I remember right.

Good luck in India, its fantastic what you are doing :T

  • No suggestions for you, but just wanted to wish you the best of luck. I spent 2 months in Pune in 1999. Amazing experience, though pretty heartbreaking at the same time.

squezzy pig from pigsback (free but you need to do some clickthroughs etc to get one)

http://www.cowandgate.co.uk/ using code MB0506C will get you a terry towling cow, easy to squish into your luggage & washable

there's loads of sites offering free pens (serach here or bobs free stuff).

    good luck
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
  • If you PM me with your name & address I have lots of pencils, about a dozen rubbers and a few pens you can have. Some of these are from the Quick Reads offers, you might want to try them yourself or some other MSE'rs may have some left too. Good luck x

Hi, well first of all good luck....Ok, when I was in sixth form at school I had to organise a childrens party with gifts...I phoned around lots of local banks/travel agents and the card shops, and got pens, pencils, rubbers balloons, badges etc...it's surprising the amount of freebies you can get when it involves children.:A
Also maybe worth advertising on freecycle.
