Is it too late to claim PPI from HSBC - 20 years

OK I might be chancing my arm a little here.

Over the years (in the past) I have had 5 different loans with HSBC all of them with PPI and all of them actually sold as implied without PPI I wouldn't get the loan, on one occasion I remember clearly was told I had to take it.

Problem is all of these loans ended possibly between 7-15 years ago.

I did read somewhere that the 6/7 year rule referred only from when you became aware something may have been wrong, irrespective of the age of the loan.

Can anyone confirm whether or not I would be able to claim, HSBC have been able to give me all of the loan account numbers, so at least I know they are on the system

Advice please??

    Hi,

I took out my hsbc loan in 1999.

E mail servicequality@hsbc.com to lodge your claim and see where you get.

In the end if you don't ask, you don't get !

    Good luck.

Hi I took first loan with HSBC in 1997 and 2nd loan in 2001 both were paid by 2002 and I have just had a ppi mis-sell upheld and have now recieved full settlement including interest dating back to 1997.

Just to let you know I had no paperwork other than one loan agreement number.

My reasons for mi-sell were the same told that we had to take ppi, plus I was selfemployed.

    Good luck

Mine was upheld as well from the late 90's via Lloyds, and they are now currently dealing with ones from the mid 90s, if you don't try you will never know.
Make them aware that you only recently became aware of the mis selling of the PPI and you believe it applies to you.

    Good luck.
