Cat Food- the big question, Wet or Dry?

I heard both sides of the argument from many different people. My 3 cat currently are on a strict dry food diet (hills science plan and royal canine) as that's what their vet recommended.
My oldest cat Sebastian has just got back from the vets, he has very sore gums. The vet think its stomatitis. He has been given a steroid shot and an antibiotic shot. She has also recommended that I try him on wet food.
I thought it would be interesting to do a poll, so we can see what's most popular, wet, dry, a mix of the two or other (maybe raw etc). So vote away!

I've always had dry food down so they can eat whenever they like, and I give one of them wet food as a treat (although she loves it so much, she begs for it all day). One of them will only eat dry.0

erm.. I mean - where is the nearest SPECSAVERS (for me) LOL0

Mine have dry for breakfast and to graze on through the day, and wet for tea
Two of my cats are not particularly fond of wet food - Spot the Bengal kitten has only just started to eat some in the last few days - but I do try and encourage them to eat wet. 0 -
wet all the way - far better for them health wise the higher the meat content the better - at least 40-50% meat, Whiskas/Felix et al only have typically around 4% the McDonalds of the petfood world! - petforum.co.uk has LOADS of advice.Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Mix for mine - 1/2 tin wet am & pm and dry to graze on.
I would like to get them to eat more wet but they're having none of it ...... (have spent a small fortune on various "good" wet foods that they won't touch).
I also find that if you do give them wet, it's a lot easier to try to sneak medication in.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I feed mine on the sensitive 33 from Royal Canine. She has a delicate stomach and this food seems to really suit her. I would like to give her the odd pouch/tin of wet food to give her some variety but unsure which ones would be okay for her.٩(•̮̮̃•̃)۶ ٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶ ٩(●̮̮̃•̃)۶ ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶ ٩(-̮̮̃•̃)۶ :EasterBun0

Daisy has mainly wet, mostly as she doesn't drink fluids so get's her moisture from the food, but the's a good quality dry for her to graze on.0

Pixie - RC do a sensitive pouch http://www.petmeds.co.uk/p-504-royal-canin-sensitivity-control-cat-wet.aspx - £24 for 32 pouches or £33 for 48 which is a bit better. Should hopefully be similar to the dry if that suits her.
Didn't have a hunt so you may find it cheaper or on offer somewhere.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Mine's a fussy wee madam when it comes to wet food. She's turned her nose up at all the quality wet foods I've tried her on, but she'll eat any dry food at all so she's getting fed on Burns at the moment and that seems to be going well. I can't leave it out for her to graze on though, or she'll eat the whole day's allowance within 5 minutes then wail for the rest of the day. I'm a bit worried about her weight - she was an skinny, underfed rescue kitty and now she'll eat until she's sick and she's starting to head towards chubby, so I've got to be careful and weigh it out accurately. So she gets half in the morning then half in the evening, plus one pouch of Felix (I know!) at tea time.
And since she's mainly on dry I bought her a water fountain so she'll drink more - this cuts down a little bit on the claw marks I get when she clambers up on my lap to get to the sink taps when I'm on the loo :rotfl:0
