Connect laptop to TV-help please

Options
I have spent hours trying to sort this but can't so I'm hoping some clever techy can help me. I've got an old toshiba satelite M70 laptop and want to connect to my toshiba regza tv. The manual says the tv out on the laptop is through a 4 pin s video so I bought one and all I can view on the telly is the background of my laptop. Have eventually found the display control on the laptop and altered the resolution to 600x800 as advised on another forum. I'd like to watch the rugby I've missed via itv player and watch it on a full sized screen. Can anyone help please???????

  • After much research I've managed to do it. Quite complicated for a non techy like myself but perseverance pays. Unfortunately, the rugby's a bit jerky watching it on ITV player so think I'll give it a miss. Shame you can't get ITV player on the Wii like you can with BBC iplayer.

You wanna save up for a faster laptop with an HDMI port. Viewing over S-video isn't great quality, as you say the resolution has to go way down (doesn't matter much for a full screen low quality stream though I suppose).
