Travel time between ceremony and reception

There are two ways to look at this:
1) It's your day, so you have it how you want it
2) consider Guest experience, which is broken down as follows:
Service -> 1 hour drive -> waiting around whilst photos are done -> wedding breakfast -> further waiting around for evening reception -> how do I get home/do I need to stay at the venue
If you want the day the way you want it that is fine - it's your special day so you need to do what makes you happy.
If what makes you happy is also having family and friends enjoy it as much as you do, and to have as fond memories as you, you would need to give special consideration to the older and younger guests as both tend to get bored and crotchety very quickly.0
