Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. My dd is having a Russian day at school next week and each child has been asked to bring in food for it. I've no idea where to start
It needs to be something that can be eaten cold and something the children might like to try.Oh and cheap to make, money is tight. Help please:o:o:o xx

Pierozski.... if you want to make sweet.
Struggling with the cold food theme to be honest.. :-( Not that many "typical" cold foods I can think of..0 -
Thank you for both of those. I think the sweet one is the more appealing. At least now i can stop running around like a headless chicken lol x0

The salad is lovely and great alternative to rice/potatoes, but not sure I would send it to school either, it's not really kids thing is it:-)0

I work with quite a few Russians and one of the things they like to bring in for us is called Medovnik which is a layered honey cake. Its delicious and very traditional, I'm sure there must be lots of recipes out there for it0

Medovnik is not typicaly Russian cake, and I can tell you for nothing it is a ball leg to make it! I made mine on Saturday so I know what I am talking about!!:-))0

Oooooooh am spoilt for choice now, I think I'll be trying them for myself as well. I seem to be stuck in a cooking rut at the moment so having to do this might give me the urge to break out into different cooking. Thanks Any and floyd :A0
