hp touchpad warranty query

Got my HP touchpad from cpwarehouse and got the Geek Squad Computing service plan for it (only on the understanding I could cancel it at any time - pay monthly).
Someone on hotukd mentioned a 'careplan' which I think is from HP.
I've heard of some tp's having/developing cracks near the speakers so want to make sure it's covered before I open the box (I know, ever cautious:o). Does anyone know about the guarantee for these - seen as they are discontinued?

I wouldn't have bothered with the warranty, they're discontinued! The cracks were only in very early versions so don't worry about that. HP are providing a 1 yr warranty, so don't pay any extra.0

Thanks. I'm going to cancel the warranty as I am able to do so within 14 days and just stick with the HP guarantee.0
