Morning everyone!
Today I have been round the house and turned off all the lights etc once everyone had gone to work/school.
So my small DFW thing today is to nag people until I am blue in the face about turning things off!!

Well it's the final day on the pre-lim letter for mine and my dad's account, so I will be writing the new letters
I am also doing next week's meal plan (this Sat until the Friday after)
I'm also sending the meter reading off to our new supplier which is going to save us, £40 per month plus £35 from Quidco

Ooh, I'm a happy bunny today. I just renewed my buildings and contents insurance via mutualpoints (couldn't find it on pigsback) and instead of paying £273 I'm going to be paying £191.39. Hurray!
Have also been slogging at a budget which details my *real* expenses, i.e. to do with work and personal life both - and tying that together with Martin's article about having a loan and savings at the same time. Once I've asked for some feedback about other mse-ers who've sorted this, I'm almost sure I'll pay off the loan (with about half of my instant access savings) and be over £150 a month better off!
Going to have a celebratory cuppa coffee *right now*!:T2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

A kindred spirit! It's amazing the savings you make when turning things off at the wall. I can't stand it when people have lights and TVs on when they're not in the room - it happens a lot in my house!
My small DFW things for today are:
1. Stocking up on some cheaper birthday cards so I don't have to buy pricey ones at the last minute.
2. Eating soup at lunch
3. Paying in ebay cheques and small change.Overpay!0 -
I had to do the lights off etc this morning, drives me barmy!
Left overs for lunch, collected exercise bike this morning off freecycle
doing all laundry at 30 degrees (without Ariel to my sons disappointment, he thinks if I do everywhere will light up) and a tidgy amount of washing powder/soda crystals One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
1) I have managed to get some clothes of freeecycle so off to collect them, hope they will tide me over and I won't need to buy any!
2) Made some money on ebay - yay!0 -
I managed to keep the weekly shop to below £30.00 and am now shopping around for travel insurance (off to stay with my sister at Easter). We were getting quotes for £112 but it looks like we can get insurance for £60 with the help of Martin's info. Waiting till hubby gets home to check it before I order incase I'm missing something vital!January budget

- brought lunch into work (cheese and pickle sandwich)
- cadged new face creams off my Nanna (they were in her cabinet and I was going to buy new so saved me about £10)
can't think of anything else, but I may later!

I like this thread, its very inspiring :j
Today I:
- walked to work and will also walk home (saving £2 on Oyster card)
- made a cheese roll and chopped carrots to bring for lunch (even though I was running late due to having to save 5 tiny creepy crawlies from the bath before I could use it - how did 5 get in there!!) Proud of this one as previously I would have just bought my lunch at an expensive sandwich shop.
- have menu-planned for the whole week
- paid for my holiday in October with money I had saved (would previously have gone on to CCs)
Keep up the good work everyone :TDealing with my debt and my weight
