Problem getting Life Insurance

I suffered from hepatitus when I was younger. I am now 35 and in good health with no liver problems. I am still finding it difficult to get life insurance. As soon as I mention the hepatitus they run a mile. Is there any way I can get life insurance? It is a reall worry for me and my family. I have a letter from my doctor to say that tests have been done and I'm all clear. I don't mind paying a bit extra for cover.
thanks

When you talk to any company and mention that in the PAST you have suffered from this condition and they advise you that they can't or won't cover you. Ask them a few questions?
Has the underwriters looked at this quote?
Or is it just a case of computer says NO
Why are you discrimanting me?
Failing all that chat with a fini adviser for further advise.

It depends what form of Hepatitis you had and what your current state of health is like. Type A is the easiest to get cover for as long as a liver function test comes back normal. Type B & C are more difficult, it depends on state of health/liver now, whether you are still a carrier etc. At the very best you should expect premiums to be about double those initially quoted for a 'normal' applicant but declines are also common.
