Is a rise in line with inflation really a 'hike' ?Legal team on standby0

I can understand why they have to increase but surely they will be cutting their own throats?0

WHY have they had to increase prices?
With so many countries in financial trouble we will see hotel owners (in places like Greece) practically beg for our custom.
Any increase in fuel prices should easily be offset by lower costs in resort - large travel companies dictate what they will pay and they now have even more clout to pay what they want.
They must be bonkers to think that people will just pay these increases - more people are staying in the UK and those that dont can see the HUGE savings to be made by booking with low cost airlines and hotel websites.
For instance;
Sharm el Shiekh, Egypt
January 5th 2012
21 nights
All Inclusive
2 Adults
Cheapest Thomas Cook hotel & flight price = £718 each
Easyjet & holidaynights price = £535 each
Just dump the tour operators and DIY.0
