HP Scanjet 3400c with ZP

I have this scanner which was working OK but now has developed a gremlin. I tried to download the updated driver from HP site but although it is listed as being compatible with ZP warned me that I may be putting my system in danger if I continued to download. Could anyone give me any advice as to how to proceed as I cannot afford a new scanner at present and need to scan and photocopy. Thanks

DrSmutt - I have downloaded the driver and software again but the photocopy and scan are both stepped instead of a true copy of the original A4 page of typing. I cannot understand why I am not getting a true photocopy - the page seems to have wrapped, ie. text has moved over to the right and what was on the far right has transferred to the left hand side of the page. The scan starts correctly at the top of the page and then each paragraph has moved over by approximately 1".

Does this make sense?

I assume you mean XP?

I have an HP 3300 scanner which worked fine, but then started to give corrupted scans. I found under Control Panel>Scanners and Cameras I had two instances of the scanner installed. By removing both and letting the scanner re-install, the problems were solved.
