we have just gone through the same thing , 2 adults and 3 kids had to survive on £81 a week stat sick pay ( from work) and £40 child benefit.
Not sure what your exact circumstances are , but we did surprisingly manage for almost 6 weeks , and that was buying nappies and baby milk aswell .
Just keep checking your bank account , as the money will be paid in a lump sum (backdated) before you get the award through the post , our's took a week inbetween getting the payment , to receiving the award letter .
I know it's a rough deal
As far as getting an interim payment I'm not sure .0 -
When it happened to us we had to wait 12 weeks.0

Just had ours stopped, no reason given, no time frame on when it will be sorted. We have all information at hand. The helpline does not help. It is very frustrating and I am left without funds to cover electric and gas payment. The hardship people say we are not in hardship and therefore not entitled to help. I'd like to see them to try and manage.0
