Yellow pages

Hiya myself and my partner have been asked to deliver some yellow pages. Theres 838 books and we would get paid £108. Anyway will this affect my benefits and tax credits etc? Who do I have to tell ive done it. They said they dont need any details like NI number just his name for the yellow pages form. Obviously I dnt want to do them if its going to mean my benefits will go down and my tax credits because it just wouldnt be worth it. Anyone done them before?x

Your not asked to deliver them, you've obviously applied to do this and been accepted.
It's earnings and will have to be declaired, probs won't effect tax credits but it will have an impact on any means tested benefits you receive.
  • no we didnt apply for it, A person at my partners work is running the books for this area and asked if he wanted to do them. Do i need to sort out the tax on it or will it already be taxed? If not how do i go about doing it? x
  • Also how do i need to let the council for housing benefit/ council tax benefit no as im assuming you dont get a payslip or anything to take in to show them as the man just said it was a cheque? x

From the sounds of it the person is being paid a set amount of say £150.00 and giving you the difference to deliver them, if its cash in hand then why worry just do it its only £108.00 after all nothing compared to the benefit cheats that cream off £1000.00's a year.

Didnt see your last post about a cheque, tell him to pay you it in cash,
  • They have loads of routes they had to deligate to diffrent people. Its all above board and they pay everyone with cheque but i have no idea about anything like working out paying tax or how I would submit evidence to housing benenfit because usually with my partnes wage we just take up his pay slip. Would i take up the cheque? x

Just bank it and if you are that worried about it make a copy of it to and submit it in your next claim.
