I bought most of my course books from Play.com which wasn't too expensive if you go through PlayTrade (wholesalers will normally sell new books at prices considerably cheaper than the main website), but you probably don't want that as it's too close to Amazon Marketplace...

Agree with others about trying campus bookshops or your uni's society - my uni used to do a 'book amnesty' where you could basically trade in your books from the previous term/year and swap for books you needed for the next module.

Other than that he said we should just stick to the library (which is probably easier for the 17 people on my course than for courses with big intakes when there 6 copies of a lot of the books in the library!)
