Seller won't honour price.

Hi I hope someone can help me here.
Today I purchased on line & paid for a kayak priced at £399.00 inc free delivery. During the on line check out process, the sellers site allowed for paypal customers to use paypal for the payment of goods. I decided to use my paypal account to purchase the goods as advertised at £399.00 & completed the transaction. A confirmation e-mail from paypay arrived confirming the that the transaction had completed.
After checking a few moments later for a confirmation e-mail from the seller, when I was surprised to find an e-mail from the seller stating that the price on their web page was incorrect & that they had refunded my paypal account £399.00 Another email from Paypal confirmed the refund.
My question is as I had paid in full for goods on line, should the seller not warrant the on line price regardless if they have made an honest mistake & ship the goods ?
Thank's for your help in advance.
Kind regards,
Sean

Unless their terms say the contract is formed once you have paid - no they dont have to honour it
see the sticky on the main forum page for more info.0 -
What website was it?
But as said, it's likely their terms stipulate the contract is formed on dispatch of the goods. If it doesn't it will likely states they can cancel orders where there has been a pricing error.
These things happen, annoying yes, but all you can do is move on and find another website selling it cheap.0 -

I've been done like this, the shop has all the rights Im afraid, I paid for a bed and the company had my money in their account for 6 weeks before they just refunded the money (no interest !) and said it was miss priced.
VERY annoying.0 -
Hi thanks to all for the help & pointing me in the right direction of the "sticky"
I have read through & believe I now understand the essence of what is considered both parties acceptance of a contract. What I failed to mention last night night was I received an automated e-mail confirmation from the company confirming price, delivery schedule & order reference number. Isn't this itself confirmation from the seller that they have agreed to the contract even if the confirmation is automated ? It was some minutes later when I received another e-mail from this company confirming their mistake & instant refund of £399.00.
Thanks once again.0 -
