Got a new blackberry curve yesterday. Have never had a phone that went online before so it's all very new and VERY confusing.
I am trying to get it to receive my emails. I managed this yesterday but then I accidentally reset the whole phone and wiped all the settings.
When I put my email address in, it then says to enter activation password - presumably just the password of the email address?
Then I get an error message saying "Activation failed. An error was encourntered when sending the activation transmission"
HELP PLEASE!

I take it you have the Blackberry mail add on with your tariff? You can't get push mail on your device without Blackberry mail...0

I don't know what that is!
Yesterday I told it what my hotmail account was and what my password was and then what my business account was and what my password was and hey presto! I saw my emails!0 -
business account is what sort of provider? Hotmail you should be able to get, but if your business mail is on exchange you will need to configure this on a push mail tariff to work
the activation code is provided by the admin of the Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) you only need it for exchange, lotus notes or some other corporate email system
go here and click email setup http://uk.blackberry.com/support/blackberry101/setup.jsp
Good luck0 -

The business account is just where my website is hosted...I'm less worried about that because it bounces to my hotmail anyway.
When I first turned Blackberry on it had a different set up screen to the one it has now - with a drop down menu of possible email addresses eg. ending in yahoo.com, hotmail.com etc. It doesn't have that.
I will try the suggested help place. Watched a video there already - it didn't help! Honestly, I have a degree and 2 postgraduate qualifications but I think I need a phD as well to fathom this one out0
