a friend told me today that Halifax are going to be stopping doing their Ultimate Reward account soon.
DOes anyone have any idea if this is true?

i know they are not offering it to new customers, but surely will not make you close it if you already have one?

    Not something I've heard.

    Yes they are.

If they did, they would just change the T&Cs of your account. It would remain open without the benefits.

On the other hand, Bank of Scotland no longer offer the account. They have alternatives.

That's Bank of Scotland. Halifax and BOS are two separate entities.

Bank of Scotland and Halifax are offering different account ranges now. BOS's accounts are now the same as LloydsTSB's. Halifax are still offering the RCA and URCA

If Halifax aren't offering the URCA any more, someone had best tell my local branch, who currently have massive signs in the window advertising it to all and sundry.

I tried to open a Reward current account online with Halifax at the weekend, but got a letter saying there'd been a problem with the online stuff and to go into a branch to open it.

I went into my local branch this morning but they told me that they are no longer doing the reward current account or the ultimate reward current account, and that new types of accounts would be available in November, but she had no details on what those would be!
