Hi, I went over by £10 on my current account and my mum's gone mad at me, does anyone know the charges for the youth accounts? I've been over for about 10 days and I don't see how they can charge me £50 if I don't have an income
Thanks!
Thanks!

hmmm...
As far as i know i don't think they can charge you especially since your account is an 11-15 account??
I would contact the branch and explain whats happened, say your sorry and you'll be more careful in future and i'm confident your £50 charge will be removed.0 -
Hm I thought that too, I really hope someone has a solid answer, thanks for the help!0

nothing will happen but pay it back immediately, its not your money. we all make mistakes but don't let it happen again, just put the money you owe in your account and that should be that.0

you cant be charged as you are under 18, if you do get charged visit your local branch immediately and they will refund them.

Typical Santander letting a minor go into a overdraft.0

Yeah I have no idea how I let this happen...
Thanks all!0 -

Nice try at Santander bashing there, close but no cigar.
A youth account can still go overdrawn as the retailer may authorise the transaction for smaller amounts without talking to the bank0 -
