how do you charge a sealed car battery, do you just connect it to your charger, i have only charged a non maintenance free battery, where you have to open the tops

i don't know as it's my lads, it has got a new fan belt, hopefully it's not the alternator0

Yes you can stick it on cHarge as normal ..it will still be vented although sealedIt's not just about the money0

Whatever you do, DO NOT connect it to and try to start the car immediately after charging. Leaving it for at least 10 minutes in a well ventilated location!
The hydrogen build up in those things is easily enough to cause an explosion, which will result in battery acid quite literally everywhere!

Trickle is always the best way to thoroughly charge a battery.
If you can afford one (or have access to one where you work), a pulse charger is far better for a battery than either rapid or trickle charging it.
Not only will a pulse charger ensure that the battery reaches a higher charge state than a regular charger, it also prolongs its life.
I started using a pulse charger last year to charge aircraft batteries (sealed lead acid) and the difference this has made a noticable difference to both their capacity and life.0
